by Nollywood actress, Stephanie Linus has been selected for screening at the
24th Pan African Film Festival (PAFF) In Los Angeles, California.
In what can
be described as a plus for Nigeria’s film industry, the Stephanie directed and
produced movie, secured a spot at the largest and most prestigious black film
festival in America. PAFF is famously described as the quintessential Black
festival, and is scheduled to hold between February 4 and 15, 2016 in Los
Angeles.
An elated Stephanie while commenting on the achievement, said: “I am so glad that Dry has been selected to screen at the Pan African Film Festival. One of the dreams I had while making this movie is that it would be seen on several platforms across the world and that dream is coming to life.”
The movie,
Dry, depicts the life of two young girls living as child brides in West Africa.
The movie focuses on child marriage and Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF),
journeying into the heart-wrenching details of a culture not too many films
dare to explore. It will be screened on Sunday, February 7, Saturday, February
13 and Monday, February 15.
Other actors
in the movie include, Darwin Shaw, Liz Benson Ameye, Bill McNamara, Zubaida
Ibrahim Fagge and others.
